Stats - Rohit matches Dhoni's rare feat; Jadeja topples records galore
8 - Player-of-the-Match awards for Ravindra Jadeja in Test matches at home. He is joint-second on the list for an Indian in home Tests, alongside Sachin Tendulkar (8) and behind only Anil Kumble (9).
7 for 42 - Jadeja's returns in the second innings of the second Test against Australia - his best in Test cricket. These are also the third-best bowling figures for an Indian in a home Test against Australia, behind Jasubhai Patel's 9 for 69 in 1959 and Harbhajan Singh's 8 for 84 in the 2001 Chennai Test.
4 - Test matches as captain for Rohit Sharma, with India winning all four. He is only the second Indian captain to win his first four Tests, after MS Dhoni. In the last 50 years, Babar Azam is the only captain other than Dhoni and Rohit to register wins in their first four Tests.
48 - Total number of runs added by Australia for their last eight partnerships in the second innings. It is Australia's worst eight-wicket collapse in Tests against India, beating the 65 runs in the second innings of the previous Test in Nagpur.
16 - Instances where Australia added less than 50 runs for their last nine wickets in a Test innings, including the 48 runs in the second innings in Delhi. Their previous such collapse was in 2018 against Pakistan, where they added 42 runs in their first innings in Dubai.
12 - Twelve out of 20 Test matches hosted by India since the start of 2018 have ended in three or fewer days, including twice where the game ended in just two days - Bangalore 2018 and Ahmedabad 2021. Only three Test matches have lasted five days during this timeframe - India defeating South Africa in Visakhapatnam in 2019, England beating India in Chennai in 2021 and a drawn India-New Zealand Test in Kanpur in 2021.
5 - Number of batters bowled by Jadeja in Australia's second innings. The last bowler to take five or more wickets bowled in a Test innings was Shoaib Akhtar against New Zealand in 2002. (Though Stuart Broad came close over in Mount Maunganui this weekend.)
10 - Wickets shared between Jadeja and R Ashwin in the second innings, the second instance of them sharing all ten scalps in a Test innings. They picked up ten wickets (Ashwin 6, Jadeja 4) during England's first innings in Mumbai in 2016.
1987 - Last instance of India losing a Test match in Delhi - against West Indies by five wickets. Since then, India have won 11 of the 13 Test matches at the venue, while the other two ended in draws.
